To market safe practices about water, the US Army Corps of Engineers is coordinating a water safety poster contest with The Dalles Middle College sixth graders. First, a Park Ranger will present an interactive water security system to every 6th grade wellness class all through the 2010-2011 college year.

The subsequent step is the exciting component, making the posters! Brown paper grocery bags will be provided to the little ones to make their posters on. Right after the winners are announced, the completed posters will be donated to the regional location farmer’s marketplace and meals bank. And finally, a water security display featuring the prime 10 poster winners can be viewed at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center (3545 Brett Clodfelter Way, Exit 87) for everybody to take pleasure in.
