This is most likely my favourite photo of Gemma, and I have only just discovered it! Thats the difficulty with carrying out all these shoots, one particular after the other. I end up with so many images that I neglect to, or dont have time to edit them all, and I stumble upon them numerous months later. I now have over 250,000 unedited photos, from travels, shoots and god knows what. I feel I may want a couple of days off :).

Ellie was 19 years old at the time of this shoot, and in the running for Miss UK Earth. She is very tall, particularly in heels and has the posture of a would-be supermodel. She has a way of looking into the camera as if she is hunting at you, and the thoughts and feelings inside her come right to the surface right away. I dont consider I could have picked any person greater to commence my model photography journey with, and we remain friends to this day.
This was my very first of 3 shoots with her more than a 3 month period, and by far the ideal images came from it. To be sincere, it was my very first actual photo shoot with an actual model, as oppose to somebody who just wanted a few photos taken. We have been joined for the day with Mark, a pal of Ellies who also wanted some pictures taken. He was a lovely guy and it was his 1st correct photo shoot also. The three of us spent actually all day together, interspersing photographs with coffee breaks and eventually wound things up around 8pm.

I didn’t have any lighting at this time, so all photos with Ellie have been taken with practically nothing much more than an onboard camera flash and natural light. The backdrop was either the front space wall or the bedroom!

Most of the photos were edited with nothing at all a lot more than Photoshop CS4. I attempted to give the photos a slightly warm tone by boosting the saturation in the yellow and red channels, while playing with the levels to get a slightly higher-key feel to them. Back in these days, I was obsessed with higher-essential and consider it was my way of disguising what were reasonably ordinary pictures .
