Worked tonight with Carla, a model from Liverpool, for a couple of hours. We did four sets in total. Beginning with fashion, we then moved to a pseudo natural light appear, then to artistic nude and ultimately to boudoir.

She is a fantastic model, who works extremely hard and seems to know more poses than you can picture. I hope you get pleasure from the images.

Carla

Carla is an remarkable model, getting years of knowledge within the business. Only 22 years old, she has been a professional model for the final 5 and can operate in a multitude of genres with ease. She is quiet, with a very sturdy Liverpudlian accent when she does speak and an unmatched perform ethic. She had been on a shoot from 8am until 7pm when she arrived at the studio, and still did not complain when we hadn’t completed by 11.30pm.
I consider the ideal thing about Carla is how comfy she looks in front of the camera, how organic. Her photographs demand hardly any editing and she has a actual poise and nonchalant attitude when posing.

Lighting

The lighting for this setup is extremely easy, using just a couple of softboxes each placed at 45deg to the model. Each of these lights are set to comparable powers, as I wanted the complete image to be virtually equally lit, with really small shadow. The essential light is still the light to the left hand side, but the fill light is undertaking far more than just lifting shadows. In fact, I had both lights set to f9 and just moved the light to my appropriate a small additional back, diffusing the light.

The act of possessing each lights powered similarly, provides the image an all round softer look and illeviates the light/shadow contrast you see in some of her pictures.

Processing

Using Lightroom, I applied a split tone to the image exactly where the shadows were toned slightly green and the highlights ever so slightly with a cream colour. To me, this offers the image a very contemporary look, even even though the overall really feel of image is somewhat soft. I wanted this to be the contrast, and I wanted it to appear ever so slightly sci-fi searching.
