Kristina

I never ever thought Id ever perform with a model who was as naturally lovely as Elizabeth, but nowadays I was proved wrong. Meet Kristina, most definitely the ideal and most stunning model Ive ever worked with. See thats the point, models are not typically lovely, they are striking, glamorous, outstanding – but hardly ever beautiful. Kristina is all of these items, but naturally lovely also.

She was born in Hungary, brought up in Russia, ended up in England by way of Milan and France and speaks with an American accent – yeah, i cant stereotype her either. She is hilariously funny, and could simply do stand up comedy if it wasn’t for her insanely genuine modelling. She does the best Russian accent Ive ever heard an American sounding Russian particular person do and her French isn’t far behind. Ive in no way had so a lot exciting on a shoot and never gotten so a lot of images that contrast so considerably amongst the cute, the strong, the damn-correct pretty and the original.

With a flick of the hair and a adjust in emotion behind the eyes, she moves from resembling Eva Mendes to Jessica Alba to Laetizia Casta (I had no thought who that was until I just googled it). You will not uncover two photos, in the plethora of ones I will upload, that look the identical. She is a one off.

Lighting

Lit twice from the correct, actually, three times. There is a large window in the path of exactly where her eyes are falling, with a beauty dish and a reflector dish further to the correct, almost behind her (the beauty dish is above the reflector dish. There is another reflector dish way to the right, not firing, just utilizing the modelling lamp to lift the shadow from the left.

Processing

Zero – she comes pre-Photoshopped!

This photo of Elizabeth, I utilised a 50mm lens, which permitted me to get incredibly close to her. Actually, the camera was virtually on the tip of her elbow, which adds to the intimacy of the shot and creates the feeling of involvement for the viewer.

Elizabeth

Yep, this honestly is Elizabeth. She has dyed her hair brunette and Ive got to admit, it suits her. Prior to, she was bleached blond and although she looked outstanding, she now looks greater.

So, we met at the studio and I couldn’t think how her look had transformed given that I final worked with her. I wanted to capture as significantly organic style photography as attainable, trying to make the pictures appear as candid as I could. So, I whacked the ISO up to one thing stupid and put a soft, film lens on the D800e. This gave the photos a sort of organic feel that makes, in my opinion, the viewer feel like they are there. I was there of course and so far Im the only viewer, so perhaps Im talking shit! Anyway, I like the softness and the grain from the higher ISO, and I feel this adds an element of mystery.

There is no studio lighting utilized at all, just a window to the left that was letting via a modicum of light that brought her body to life. She genuinely is as well quite to photography. She is a single of the most beautiful girls Ive ever met and in some techniques, this tends to make life harder. Its tough to make Liz appear various, as wherever you stand, she appears outstanding.

Zara

Tonight, properly this afternoon, I had a really brief shoot with the beautiful Zara. We only got about 30 minutes or so to grab a couple of pictures, so we did the majority of it with a single light. I got about 50 photographs in total, and there are some true gems in amongst them.

Most models are gorgeous, in their personal way, but Zara is slightly diverse. She is straight out of the box, no little print, no terms and conditions, WOW! There is no transformation period, no give me ten minutes, she basically turned up hunting precisely as she did in these images (although swap the lack of a bra with jogging bottoms and a t-shirt.

She is studying to be a nurse and will be joining the Navy as quickly as her study is full – this, Im practically confident, will see the most significant rise in the British casualty figures since the Somme. She is a lovely girl, enjoyable to function with and a excellent laugh, and Im positive, if I had far more time with her, I could capture something truly beautiful.

Lighting

A simple beauty dish on a huge pole positioned straight above her head.
