Ellie was 19 years old at the time of this shoot, and in the running for Miss UK Earth. She is really tall, particularly in heels and has the posture of a would-be supermodel. She has a way of hunting into the camera as if she is looking at you, and the thoughts and feelings inside her come right to the surface right away. I dont believe I could have picked anyone better to begin my model photography journey with, and we remain friends to this day.
This was my very first of 3 shoots with her more than a 3 month period, and by far the best images came from it. To be honest, it was my 1st real photo shoot with an actual model, as oppose to an individual who just wanted a few images taken. We had been joined for the day with Mark, a buddy of Ellies who also wanted some images taken. He was a lovely guy and it was his first proper photo shoot too. The three of us spent actually all day with each other, interspersing photographs with coffee breaks and at some point wound issues up around 8pm.

I didn’t have any lighting at this time, so all pictures with Ellie had been taken with nothing at all far more than an onboard camera flash and natural light. The backdrop was either the front area wall or the bedroom!

Most of the pictures were edited with practically nothing a lot more than Photoshop CS4. I tried to give the photos a slightly warm tone by boosting the saturation in the yellow and red channels, while playing with the levels to get a slightly higher-key really feel to them. Back in these days, I was obsessed with high-key and believe it was my way of disguising what were relatively ordinary pictures .
